MAPLE SHADE - Voters will decide in Dec. 11 whether to approve a two-question referendum totaling about $50 million that will be used for renovations and reconfiguring the Maude Wilkins and Howard Yocum elementary schools. The work covered under question one of the referendum would impact all four district schools and its central office, costing $44,193,312. Question two deals with work at the Yocum, Wilkins and Ralph J. Steinhauer elementary schools, and would cost $5,587,500. |
|
The referendum would include: • adding onto the central office and installing an auxiliary gym for the high school; • upgrading extensively to the high school weight room and several classrooms; • installing security vestibules at all school main entrances; • improving clocks, bells, fire alarms and control systems; • replacing water fountains (porcelain to electric); • and make bathrooms and ramps ADA compliant. |
