DEPTFORD TWP. — A long-awaited ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Aug. 21 to celebrate the opening of the new 24,000-square-foot University Center at Gloucester County College.

The structure's completion comes just in time for September's incoming students.

Gloucester County College currently has dual enrollment agreements with five other learning institutions, including Rowan University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutgers University-Camden, Wilmington University, and the University of Maryland University College.

The center — a $6.5 million building that will house 13 smart classrooms — will accommodate the college’s increasing enrollment and need for classroom space, as well as these new on-campus degree options.

It will be used by the college during the day and for university programs by night.
