"The renovations should be complete around Aug. 13," said GCC President Dr. Russell Davis. "We had to make the gym ADA compliant and we also put in new locker rooms, visiting coach and staff locker rooms, installed a new roof and HVAC system and expanded some of the offices. The building is 40 years old and hadn't been renovated since it was originally built." In addition to the gym construction, Davis said other projects on campus include campus-wide heating and chiller systems and some work on the Herbert building. Faculty and staff wanted everything to complete by the time students came back in September. "We're using leftover capital money and trying to get as much done as we can because we know there won't be more coming anytime soon," said Davis.
