Deptford schools get grant for upgrades

DEPTFORD The school district has received $635,600 in funding from the New Jersey Schools Development Authority to help pay for upgrades to Shady Elementary School's boiler and ventilation system.

The total project cost is $1,415,760. The local school district is responsible for the remaining balance of $780,150.

The state has awarded $116 million in grant money to local school districts since resuming the program in May. Those projects are worth more than $250 million, according to the Schools Development Authority.
