DEERFIELD TWP. — Cumberland County Technical Education Center will receive more than $2 million in grants through the School Development Authority’s (SDA) Regular Operating District Grant Program, Third District legislators announced Tuesday.

CCTEC will receive $2,071,663 to help install a new roof over the “A” wing, as well as new rooftop HVAC units to serve the “A” wing of the building, and to replace exterior doors.

“Improving the infrastructure of our schools is a key component to making our education system that much stronger. Our children need stable, safe environments to learn,” said Senate President Steve Sweeney.

“Not only will these funds help our schools undertake much-needed repairs, but they will also help alleviate the burden that might otherwise fall on local property taxpayers,” said Assemblyman John Burzichelli.

The SDA’s grant program provides funds for at least 40 percent of eligible costs for projects. These funds help address issues of health and safety, student overcrowding and other important needs.

Design for the improvements is by Garrison Architects of Marlton.
