The new three-story, 86,232 SF center will be located between 5th and 6th Street and West and Asbury Avenue. The building will house the Fire Department with (5) drive-thru apparatus bays, Bureau of Fire Protection, Emergency Squad and office of Emergency Management, Police Headquarters and Court administration office and court room for (172) people. This allows all of the Township first responders to be centrally located in a new state-of-the-art facility budgeted at $37.9 million.

The new one-story, 14,800 SF Johnson Road Station will replace the former Station. The new station includes (3 1/2) Drive-Thru Apparatus Bays at approximately 6,400 SF with adjacent support spaces, gear ready room, gear washroom, decontamination area, storage and utility rooms. The facility also includes multi-use meeting/training rooms, offices, public restrooms, private toilet/shower rooms, sleeping quarters for (8) singles or (16) doubles, fitness training room, large kitchen area and lounge to comfortably accommodate full 24-hour crew and support larger on-site meeting/training functions. Work also includes renovations to the Grenloch Station and the East Holly Avenue Station.

Fire Training Academy

The 36,887 SF Fire Academy includes a 180 seat auditorium and 6 instructional classrooms and cafeteria / lobby with seating for 148 people as well as Apparatus and Training Bays. The Fire Marshall’s Office houses the Fire Chief, the Watch Director, administrative staff and necessary support spaces. This $8.4 Million Dollar facility design was successfully bid at $7,696,000 in February 2007.

The renovations included an engine room and improved drainage in the floor. The interior has been modernized to support 24-hour crews with new bunkrooms and living areas, an improved kitchen and dining area, offices, showers and locker rooms. A fitness area and a bay for the company's antique ladder truckas well as a meeting room have also been added.

In Spring of 2007 Garrison Architects was selected to design the proposed $4.5M Avalon Public Safety Building Addition which included the demolition of the existing 8,260 square feet of existing Police/EMS Building and the construction of a new Police Wing and EMS Garage Bay to the north of the existing structure.  The total combined square footage of the new Public Safety facility is 17,737 square feet.

In Cherry Hill, Garrison Architects provided full A/E services for an expansion of the existing Deer Road Firehouse.The work included a 6,253 SF addition containing 2 apparatus bays, administrative offices,a large meeting room and a kitchen. The smaller 692 SF addition expanded the office area and improved the main entrance.
